That Peters Creek is the small creek I had written about a while back where I had seen Gar porpoising in the July a few years back.

Come to think of it, I think I remember you mentioning this. I some something while I was fishing back there, I just thought it was a shad or something. The gators and snakes are in full force back there. I do know that.

I wasn't sure the name of it but after checking the map I am. A few people I met told me what I was seeing and that the creek was loaded with Gar. I was also told that with all the Gar in there I wouldn't catch any fish. Is that true?

yea....I was told the same thing by a couple people. "You wont catch anything in Black Creek, it's loaded with Gar" well, in the main part of Black Creek (where all the jet skiiers and boaters are) I didn't catch anything. However, back in Peters Creek, there are still some fish. Peters Creek Fish I've started seeing some algae bloom back by the 209 bridge though....

Tried to drop in at yesterday at the 209 bridge, the whole area is pretty much covered with algae....since the waters not moving too much around the bridge, it seems a little stagnant.

Might try paddle towards black creek next time if I can make it through the weeds...
